It’s time for another edition of Cheap Thrills: Volume 2! Spring has sprung and I’m still broke, so here are some dirt cheap ways to enjoy Greenville as the weather gets warmer…
Movies in the Park
Grab your lawn chairs and get ready for FREE movies in the park! Every Wednesday at sunset during May and September, Greenville County partners with Fidelity Investments to host Moonlight Movies in Falls Park. As if free entertainment wasn’t enough, food trucks will be on-site every week. No smoking or pets are allowed at these events, and adults consuming alcohol will need to purchase a $1 wristband. Not in town? No worries, Trailblazer Park in Travelers Rest also hosts Movies in the Park every Saturday evening starting in August. Bring the whole family, as all movies at this location are G or PG, and no alcohol is permitted. Vendors will be selling popcorn, hot dogs, and ice cream, but guests are welcome to pack their own picnic as well!

Picnic at Furman University
Speaking of picnics, Furman University’s beautiful campus is the perfect place to enjoy lunch by the lake, just don’t forget to pack enough for the ducks! Want to work off that food? Bring a frisbee, ball, bike or yoga mat and enjoy.

Mini Golf at McPherson Park
Have some old clubs and balls lying around? Put them to good use at McPherson Park’s FREE mini golf course!

Spend the day at Paris Mountain State Park
Lace up your hiking boots and and take a scenic walk through Paris Mountain. Trails range in difficulty with options for beginner and young hikers as well as experienced. View the trail map here! Paris Mountain also offers freshwater fishing at Lake Placid, a 15 acre lake stocked with bass beam, and catfish. When you’re done, cool off with a swim, kayak, or pedal boat ride across the lake!

Farmer’s Market in Downtown Greenville & Trailblazer Park in TR
Starting in May, spend your Saturday supporting local vendors, enjoying beautiful weather, and sampling fresh food! Both Greenville and Travelers Rest host their own markets, so be sure to visit each to see vendors like Blue Ridge Creamery, Upstate Greens, Peace Love and Soap, Chillwagon, and more! King of Pops in Downtown Greenville
Cool off with a delicious popsicle from local vendor King of Pops! Stationed all around Greenville, King of Pops serves up delicious southern flavors like Peaches ‘N Cream, Chocolate Sea Salt, Sweet Tea ‘N Lemonade, and more!

Greenville FC Soccer Games at Stone Soccer Stadium Furman University
