Welcome to The Office, well Ridge Media’s office that is. Since the end of 2014, Ridge Media in Greenville has established itself as a creative marketing firm that specializes in establishing and communicating their clients’ brands in traditional and new proven methods. And of course with every office there’s a leader. Now let’s meet that leader, Kenny Ridgell of Ridge Media.
360: How did Ridge Media come to life?
Kenny: As a College of Charleston student, I had the opportunity to work as Marketing Director on a city guide app in Charleston and Greenville. During this time, I truly found my passion in dealing with brand strategy on all fronts and began Ridge Media unofficially during May of 2014. I used my relationships with local business owners to build my client base and relied on fellow CofC students as talent.
Ridge comes to life continued…
Kenny: Upon graduation in December of 2014, Ridge Media LLC was officially incorporated and I moved operations to Greenville. We began working out of my parents house, (Typical entrepreneur story) quickly building a network within Greenville, which expanded our portfolio into a full service agency. We can assist our clients in anyway ranging from: A-La-Carte one-off project basis to a contractual basis where we act as an extension of your team. Meaning that we manage all of your marketing needs, from printing shirts, to running your entire digital campaign, we can do it all.
360: Give us the quick elevator pitch. Go!
Kenny: Ridge Media’s goal is to provide digital and traditional marketing solutions to businesses ranging from start-up to fortune 500 companies. We focus on creating and expanding brand awareness by providing a one stop shop for all of your strategic marketing needs.

Our team is a group of diverse experts who specialize in brand identity, creative content and strategy. Ridge Media works with a nationwide clientbase, with our headquarters based out of Greenville, SC and satellite office in Charleston.
360: What are a few client success stories that you’re particular proud of?
Kenny: Although we have had the opportunity to work with many businesses, my most meaningful success stories have been helping entrepreneurs start their businesses. First off, I am particularly proud of working with a new church, Verdae Presbyterian. We have managed the branding, strategy and marketing since the church began last year. The church has already grown tremendously in terms of attendance and has a rapidly growing amount of digital traffic (nearly 14,000 impressions this month!)

Kenny: Another one of my favorites is the local beverage catering business, Southern Libations. It was started by my first employee and one of my lifelong friend’s, Jared Little. We have taken a much more grass roots approach to his marketing, using the guerilla marketing strategy to our advantage. This has kept him booked nearly every weekend since his first event this year, at the music festival, Shoeless Jam. Just to name a few of the angles we took; offering local liquor and beer packages, craft beers on draft, and partnering with non-profit events.
360: Tell us about the Ridge Media team. Who makes up the team?
Kenny: First and foremost, Ridge Media would not be here today without our team, friends, and family. Not only everyone who works for us now, but everyone who has ever helped us out at all. We are a close knit team of 5 full-time employees including my Mom, Holly Ridgell, as the COO. Our Art Department is made up of Graphic Designer, Sarah Tate, and Art Director, Mattie Cobb. They are both based in our Greenville office and are naturally graduates of South Carolina and Clemson. Our lead developer, Dillon Brady, manages our Charleston office, and is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and MUSC.

Kenny: Along with our full-time employees, we are fortunate to have a talented group of interns from Clemson University and the College of Charleston. This semester, we have two Clemson interns and a College of Charleston intern. We also partner with a variety of freelancers that have played a major role in the development of our company. I credit people like Kevin Ruck and Dalton Anderson for allowing us to develop a consistent team. We are a young, agile agency that has more of family feel. I could not ask for a better team of people to work with.
360: What’s next for Ridge Media in 2018?
Kenny: In 2018, our focus will be to continue helping our clients build relationships with their customers through lifestyle marketing, videos, clickfunnels, and a variety of other strategies. In order to guarantee our clients’ satisfaction, we will focus on constantly improving our systems and processes.
360: When you’re not working… where do you like to go in Greenville?
Kenny: If I were to describe my perfect day in Greenville, I would wake up and head to my gym, Alliance, grab lunch at Two Chefs, then head to the Swamp Rabbit Trail for an afternoon bike ride. My evening would have to start off with Happy Hour at Quest Brewery, before dinner with my favorite chef in the city, Jason McCarthy, at whichever Rick Erwin’s restaurant he is frequenting for the evening.
360: Awesome. Thanks, Kenny! Keep up the great “creative” work. We look forward to seeing what you and your team starts marketing next.
