Right now a temporary but entertaining secret lies below Greenville’s Revel Event Center. After this weekend you’ll know it as Stone Pin Company, a boutique style bowling alley. To learn more about this exciting new attraction, we got the chance to sit down with it’s Venue Director Lauren Good and got the inside scoop on what to expect and what we’ll love. Here’s the exclusive Q&A… Welcome to Stone Pin Company.
360: Tell us about Stone Pin Company.
Lauren: The name alone speaks to its roots, located on Stone Avenue under the new Revel Event Center. Stone Pin Company is going to be the epicenter of cool. The idea is Stone Pin will have fewer lanes, making it easier for staff to concentrate on customer service. We will focus on more than just bowling, we want create a total unique experience and atmosphere for the Greenville Community to enjoy. Focused primarily on entertainment and socialization with upscale food and beverage offerings, and bowling as the primary form of entertainment.
360: Any particular details you can share with us? The look, size etc.
Lauren: Let’s see, here are the details… we’ll have 6 lanes split with a large square bar in the middle. Multiple bistro tables, cozy lounge areas and really fun bar and of course food! We’ll have different offerings each day including Service Industry Night, Cosmic Bowling, Happy Hour specials, lunch hour food & bowling specials, live music… even monthly bowling leagues, so start working on your team name and shirt design now! I think the first thing you’ll notice is the difference in décor. You know those uncomfortable plastic chairs by lanes at some places? At Stone Pin, we’ve decided to ditch those options for comfy couches, and a bar smack dab in the middle of the space. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but our guests are going to love the atmosphere we’ve created!
What to expect from Stone Pin continued…
Lauren: The food at Stone Pin is worlds apart from the traditional bowling alley fare. We have in-house chefs that created an upscale menu, which includes a Greenville Hot Chicken Sammie (open faced with blue cheese crumbles), Southern Pins and Pickles (beer battered Okra spears and pickles with a spicy ranch) and a I Don’t Roll on Shabbos Flatbread complete with bacon jalapeno pimento cheese, pulled pork, and Kansas City Sauce (Big Lebowski anyone?!). Stone Pin will also host every kind of party including corporate parties, birthday parties (kids and adults), holiday parties, fundraisers, group outings and more. At Stone Pin Company bowling is what brings you in, but we hope that the atmosphere and customer service will provide you with an experience you’ll want to have over and over again.
360: So when is opening day?!
Lauren: We’re looking at this weekend! Just testing out a few more details but perfection takes time, so be patient! ☺
360: What role is Revel going to come into play at Stone Pin?
Lauren: As the director of Revel, I’ll oversee all the events and parties booked in Stone Pin Company. We will have a separate manager who will operate the daily bowling and bar needs of our guests. We are also thrilled to have Chef Shane Clary and Matt Feaster of Good Life Catering on board to produce some amazing food for you guys! I think the combination of our eclectic food and bar menu will be unstoppable!
360: Last question. What’s your best bowling score?
Lauren: Ha! I’m a terrible bowler, I’m a much better cheerleader. I’d probably say 180, and that’s being nice!
360: Oh wow 180 is pretty good! Thank you for your time and good luck on the official opening of Stone Pin.
