360: How did the idea for Technologic come to life?
Nathan: Growing up, I worked with my Dad at his business. He’s a second generation Locksmith, so working out of a mobile truck was natural for me. Then, after nearly a decade in the electronic repair business, I found myself thinking: “How can I make this more convenient?” That’s when the idea came together for me; why not make it easy for people to have their repairs done by bringing the service to them?
360: Okay, so we just cracked our phone’s screen… walk us through the process. How does Technologic work?
Nathan: Well the first step is to give us a call! After that, we will set-up an appointment that is convenient for you. That means you set the time and place, and we meet you there. This can be your home, work, or even the grocery store. We complete the repair right there on-site in the truck, which can typically be completed in an hour or less.
360: What kind of repairs do you see the most of?
Nathan: Our most common repair is definitely iPhone screen repairs. We see about 60% of our repairs coming from this. That’s not to say they break easier though, as many people believe. We see them more because the iPhone has so many fewer models than all the different androids on the market. The result of that is that we see a higher concentration of the same phones.
360: How have you adjusted to working exclusively out of the Technologic truck?
Nathan: Well, for most repairs, there was actually no adjustment needed at all. We are still providing quality repairs in an ESD safe way, it just happens to be mobile. There are a few things that have become more challenging though. For instance, soldering repairs we now offer as an overnight service simply because it is unsafe to solder in such a small space due to the chemicals used in the process.
360: What do you love most about your job?
Nathan: Growing up, I always loved making and fixing things. Something about using my own hands to create or repair items gave me a great sense of satisfaction. That’s definitely a part of what I love now. Thinking critically and problem solving gives me a lot of pleasure. The other thing I love is interacting with people; I’ve always been a people person, so I love meeting new people and being in new places every day.
360: What next’s for Technologic?
Nathan: We have a lot of goals for Technologic, but our next step is going to be putting more trucks on the road so we can service a greater area and cut down travel time. This will put your phone back in your hands even faster! So give us a call and let us show you how easy it is.
360: Great, thanks again! Hopefully the next time we see you is not with a cracked screen (fingers crossed.) If not, we know who to call!
