It’s that time of the week again, Greenville!
I hope everyone is braving this rainy with a nice short holiday week! I am here for my Week 10 review of my Sportsclub360 Experience. This week I complete my 60 day p.r.e.p. experience. Just a quick reminder- I mean 60 days was a while ago – p.r.e.p. is the physician recommended exercise program that is a great program for individuals who are just starting to get back in the gym after an injury or lack of gym attendance. The p.r.e.p. program has you meet with one of the nicest nurses at the beginning, middle, and end of the program to measure your progress, goals, and objectives. Then there are set times that you sign up for to workout with a trainer overseeing the workout for any questions or modifications. Since I have been very active and have done many hours in the gym I did a taster of this program while doing my own lifting program.
This week I had my final meeting with the nurse to do body measurements and review my goals and compare them to my baseline and halfway through the program measurements. This method of tracking progress is extremely useful for anyone working out because you can see the progress overtime and also have that mid-point measurements to modify any exercises to help you meet your goals. My main goals of this 60 day p.r.e.p program was to 1. Drink more water (at least 8-8oz. cups a day) 2. Increase my weightlifting to at least 2 days a week (instead of just focusing on cardio), and 3. Keep my cardio and tone my muscles by triathlon training. I’m very happy with all the progress I made on these goals because I have gotten in habits of weightlifting and running and having increased my water intake especially during the day at work. Now I just have to keep these habits up and continue to stay active which will be no problem at all!
Overall, I give the p.r.e.p. program 5 stars out of 5 for the attention, time, genuine trainers, and help that the program offers for the individuals just getting back into the gym and referred to by a physician. Seeing that this program is only for people who have been referred by a physician, it’s very tailored to a specific population. This specific population, however, has a great and an helpful tool to help gain confidence and skills in the gym. Thank you to all the trainers and the nurse who assisted me throughout my p.r.e.p. program!
Now it’s time to use out of their on-site Spa360 this Saturday’s for a 30-minute massage for graduating from the p.r.e.p. program. Which comes at perfect timing after I finish the Middle Tyger Sprint Triathlon in the South Carolina Triathlon Series in Duncan, SC. I hope everyone gets out in this rainy weather (either in the gym or outside) to stay active!
See you again next week!
Kathryn
