Hello Greenville! It is Kathryn again and I’m ready to share my week 3 of my Sportsclub360 Experience. This week was beautiful and finally started looking and feeling like Spring. When I wasn’t out on the Swamp Rabbit Trail running or biking, I was getting in shape on the great equipment and resources that the Sportsclub has to offer.
This week I started my first workout with the p.r.e.p program. From my post last week, you got to learn all about this program and the great benefits it gives individuals with injuries, chronic illnesses, and individuals that are just beginning to work out. Since I workout a lot, my Sportsclub p.r.e.p. trainer Adam walked me through a general p.r.e.p session and then pushed me harder than the typical program by increasing my weights and reps. To start off with, Adam wrote down everything we did so next time I come in I can do it again and know what to do. I began with a warm-up on the treadmill for about 5 to 10 minutes to get moving after a long day sitting at work. We then hit every major muscle group through various machines and exercises. I ended up using the squat machine, bench press machine, dumb bells, and boxes to compliment my work out. A few days afterwards I was quite sore, which was a great sign!
The highlights of the workout included an abs circuit that I will definitely do at home and while working out alone, I mean it’s getting to swim suit season so got to work on those abs (haha!) At the end of my 40-minute workout, Adam and I debriefed by looking at everything I did and picked which circuit challenged me the most and what needs to be harder. It was great to have a trainer there to listen and hold me accountable.
Stay tuned for next week when I try my first GroupX fitness class and go in for a quick lunch p.r.e.p session. Stay active Greenville! #sportsclub360
