Check out our quick Q&A with Sister Act’s star Simone Mack…
What is it like to play such an iconic character created by Whoopie Goldberg?
Wow! Playing is fun, it’s like anything goes. So many opportunities for me to be sassy and strong and funny at the same time.
What elements of the character are you keeping enact and/or making your own?
The music is what I work to stylize so that I’m able to bring Simone the singer to Deloris the character.
What’s your favorite moment in the show? Go!
My favorite moment… hmm there are so many, but I’d have to say the confessional scene with Mother Superior.
We’ve heard you juggle a busy schedule sometimes. How do you do it?! Walk us through your day.
So my day starts at 4am and I teach at Cyclebar class or go to crossfit then I work an 8-5 and during my lunch and in my drive time I run lines and songs. Then it’s off to rehearsal. I live in Spartanburg, so I’ve got a little drive.
What’s next after Sister Act?
After Sister Act I’ll be taking some time away from the acting scene to be a part of the audience!
