Travelers Rest: a wonderful addition to the budding Greenville community. With local shops and restaurants, you can be sure to find special places to feed your fancy. A favorite of Furman students for its location, I visit TR (its endearing acronym) regularly to get my fill of crepes, pizza, sandwiches, ice cream, and more. Here’s just a few of my favorite TR haunts:
Tandem Crêperie and Coffeehouse:
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Tandem is my absolute favorite place. From the warm and inviting employees to the consistently tasty crêpes and coffee, it is my home base away from Furman. I can count on a happy greeting when I walk in and a wave goodbye when I leave. What a genuine experience.
Sarah’s choice: rooibos tea (served in a teapot and cute teacup) and the Banana Nut crepe (no pecans)

A rapidly expanding enterprise, Sidewall is known for quality pizza, seriously creative ice cream flavors (follow their Instagram for the daily update), and an impressive selection of local beer, wine, and cider (my personal choice). With a rotating seasonal menu and make-your-own options, this place is always bustling with locals. Here’s a fun tip: when the weather’s nice, sit outside and enjoy the twinkling lights.
Sarah’s choice: pepperoni-mushroom-feta pizza, blackberry cider, and cranberry-goat cheese ice cream (the ice cream flavor changes every day!)

Known for creative lattes and coffee roasting, Leopard Forest Coffee is a TR gem. I love the white and wood tables (perfect for Instagram), and the food is great also. A popular homework location for Furman students, The Forest is also getting an exciting new website from Tangible Strategies, my favorite small business marketing and branding agency in Greenville.
Sarah’s choice: Snow Leopard latte in a mug and breakfast bowl with sausage, egg, cheddar, and grits
