September not only ushers in Fall in the Foothills, but one of the upstate’s most anticipated outdoor celebrations. Euphoria hits the streets for four days, September 20th – 23rd, highlighting Greenville’s Culinary and Arts Communities. Proceeds from this annual event fund Local Boy Do Good, dedicated to supporting local non-profit organizations.
“Founded in 2006 by platinum-selling singer/songwriter Edwin McCain and restauranteur Carl Sobocinski, Euphoria educates, entices, enlightens and entertains.” How about I just learned that Edwin McCain was a founder? Where have I been? He’s one of my all-time favorite people.
The Old Cigar Warehouse will host this year’s Kick-off Party on Thursday (sadly sold out!) More than a dozen chefs will offer guests a taste of Greenville. Local band, The Erica Berg Collection, will be on hand providing a side of tunes.
This post would turn into a 100-page book if we tried to list everything Euphoria brings to town, so here are just a few…
Friday, the energetic and health conscience can enjoy Ride & Lunch on the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail. The lawn at Hampton Station is where Burn Boot Camp will lead a 50-minute workout Saturday from 10am to 12pm. If exercise is not at the top of your Weekend Things to Do List, (just because it’s my passion doesn’t mean it’s yours – everybody can’t commit to walking on the treadmill once every two years) you can check out their website for a list of other activities.
One favorite event for the family is Sunday Brunch (also sold already.) This year, from 11am to 2pm, more than a dozen regional and local chefs will prepare traditional brunch items to enjoy with Bloody Marys, Mimosas and music.
Don’t miss Greenville County Schools Healthy Lunchtime Throwdown at 11:30am on the Culinary Stage. Students, ages 8 to 18, will compete for a chance to have their recipe featured on the lunch menu for Greenville County Schools.
