Staying on track with healthy eating is not always easy, especially when we have kids, jobs, appointments, ballgames, and everything else that crops up along the way. We all allow “busyness” take over every now and then. That leads to skipping meals, not getting in enough water, or the biggest one of all –slacking with getting in those greens. To help make life easier, here is an easy way to come up with some salad bowl recipes so you won’t get bored.
When life tends to get too busy, one things I love to do is take step back and look at why I am not getting in my veggies. For most of us, it is lack of preparation. In honor of meal planning, I am going to share one of my favorite meal prep ideas.
Salad Bowl Recipes for Busy People.
This is great for when you don’t know what to make or want to prep out lunches so you will be 100% prepared for the week. Choose one from each category and don’t be afraid to play around with the ingredients so you don’t get bored! I start by “building my base” of greens, pre-chopping vegetables, pre-cooking any grains, and grilling any meats then they are much easier to “build” for a quick easy meal.
Add these bonus ingredients to add flavor, probiotics, and help with digestion: Fermented veggies or kim chi, homemade salad dressings, nutritional yeast, kelp or dulse granules, fresh lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and hummus.
Now you know all about how to build a healthy salad bowl! Hopefully I made meal prepping for lunches a little bit easier and a lot less costly! In the end, adding these into your week will certainly help you live a happier and healthier life.
