If you have kids, you may be searching for ways to keep them busy while quarantined. Hiding in a closet isn’t an option. We thought we’d share a few of our favorite educational activities to use at home. And a few non-educational activities to ensure that you keep your hair.
Khan Academy is a tried and true resource for supplemental learning. All you do is click on the site, choose your grade level/subject and viola!
Scholastic has gone above and beyond since the world has shifted to homeschool status. Visit classroommagazines.scholastic.com. The lessons are quick and easy. There’s even an option to have stories read to you! Of course, our kids chose this option!
NASA has videos, crafts, games, printable activities and glossary words available. If your kids are interested in space or planets, they’ll love spending time playing in this site.
ABC Mouse Everyone’s heard of this one. You can try it FREE for thirty days!
These are only a few educational sites for students of all ages. It is by no means a complete list. We were most excited to learn that our very own aquarium will be offering virtual learning via their Facebook page every Monday thru Friday during the month of March.
Google Arts & Culture has partnered with museums and galleries all over the world to offer virtual tours. It’s safe to say none of us will be flying to New York in the near future. But, if you’ve ever wanted to see the Museum of Modern Art, now’s your chance. Or maybe you’d like to take a virtual walk around the Great Wall of China!
Some of the National Parks are offering virtual tours.
Musicians are live streaming mini concerts, authors are reading books, and illustrators are holding drawing classes online. Chief Meteorologist, Chris Justus, is teaching weather classes (about fifteen minutes) each morning at 9 am for kids.

I think we can all agree that things have been a little crazy. Our goal is to stay positive! Above all else, let’s do our best to make the most of the extra time with family.
