Mr. and Mrs. 360 are officially married. And let me tell you, being a bride is NOT easy. I’m going to talk you guys through exactly what it was like to be a bride in the good old Greenville. Here. We. Go!
Let’s start at the very beginning. Every single bride’s first thought is that you want to look your best. I did this by joining Soul Yoga at the recommendation of The Upstate Foodie (shoutout girl!) I began my yoga journey about 10 months before my wedding and it changed my entire outlook on working out. Not only is it the best community in the yoga game, it’s guaranteed to make you feel (and probably look) better too. I even persuaded Mr. 360 aka David to come to a few classes and we both became instantly addicted!
Picking a venue is one of the first things you should be doing in the very beginning. After touring a few, David and I fell in love with Revel Event Center on Stone Ave. If you haven’t already checked this space out, you need to put it on your list. Not only did they make the process so entirely easy, they literally made all my wedding dreams come true. Every meeting was easy and every concern was heard. The staff at Revel coordinated everything from additional lighting I wanted, to the caterer we used (Good Life Catering, but more on them later.) They were the go-between for many vendors and it made it much easier on us.
Let’s talk about the vendors. Flowers, music and oh my the cakes! When you start to look at vendors it can be EXTREMELY overwhelming as Greenville has so many to choose from. We started with music, which was one of the most important components for us. Music can make or break a wedding. We went with Uptown Entertainment and could not have been happier! Not only do they have an easy online selection system where you can lay out exactly what you want for each portion of your wedding, but they kept the dance floor rocking ALL NIGHT LONG.
Flowers were another overwhelming option. There are so many flower vendors and they can get a little pricy. We were recommended to take a look at Earth Blooms Flower Farm. They exceeded our wildest flower dreams. I showed Kelly photos of what I was thinking and she quickly understood my vision and replicated exactly what I wanted. When I walked into Revel on the wedding day, I couldn’t have been more pleased with the way the flowers looked.
Good Life Catering: All I can say is you gotta do the Raw Bar! Apps, apps and more apps. We had a tasting with Good Life and were blown away! We chose to do several passed apps along with the Raw Bar that included mini Shrimp n’ Grits, Chicken n’ Waffles and much more! We also went the traditional route with apps like meat & cheese boards, veggie platters. Then of course, we topped that off with a plated dinner that featured Glazed Beef Tenderloins, Chicken Piccata and Salmon. The food was a big hit and everyone was very well fed! They had a ton of options for us to choose from for the cocktail hour as well as the dinner.
Now onto dessert! Dessert is my most favorite thing in the whole world, which is why it was no question to go with Baking Sweet Scents. We decided on cupcakes and did three different flavors that included Double Chocolate, Vanilla Vanilla and Red Velvet, which were all a big hit! We also decided on a “Naked” Cake Topper, so we could take part in the traditional cake cutting. Since we ‘re talking about dessert, The Chocolate Moose provided us with their awesome cake pops for our rehearsal dinner. No need to describe these, I’m sure ya’ll already know these little bites of heaven are one of the best desserts in town.
Next up, what about the day before?! We chose to have our rehearsal dinner at Upstate Craft Beer Co. which was unique and amazing. It was big enough for our large rehearsal dinner filled with 50+ out-of-towners. They provided us with a delicious assortment of BBQ, signature sides and brewed a special Greenville360 beer (a wheat ale named #360getshitched!) for the occasion. Cheers again!
