Foothills Playhouse stands as a testament to the power of grassroots theater. For over four decades, it has been a beloved hub for live theater – bringing together actors and art lovers in a shared experience of storytelling, laughter, drama, and community spirit.
From its humble beginnings in the Easley High School auditorium to its current home on the upper floor of Easley’s iconic West End Hall, Foothills Playhouse stands out.
Uplifting productions are fueled by the heart of a supportive community.

Founded in 1981 by a group of individuals, Easley Community Theater’s first season featured four adult shows. The theater moved to its current location in 1991. More than just a performance venue, Foothills Playhouse has adopted a mission of being family-friendly, aiming to “put the community in community theater!”
We recently had the privilege of experiencing “Smoke On The Mountain Homecoming.” Whether they were singing a gospel hymn or swapping witty banter, the cast brought warmth and sincerity to the stage. There was a beautiful balance of humor and heartfelt emotion. The Sanders family felt real, flawed, loving and full of silly surprises. Every character left a lasting impression. June Sanders Oglethorpe, played by Katherine Duffie, kept me in stitches!

FHP is a non-profit. Donations from individuals, families, and businesses keep costs down and expand outreach. If you love what local theater brings to a town, there are several ways you can support this community.
Ways to Support Foothills Playhouse
Attend shows. Every ticket sold helps sustain the production: paying for sets, costumes, technical staff and overall venue upkeep.
Purchase season tickets. Season passes give more flexibility for frequent attendance, often at a better value.
Volunteer. Much of what happens on-stage and behind-the-scenes depends on volunteers: actors, set builders, ushers, front desk/box office, etc.
Spread the word. Tell your friends and neighbors. Share on social media! These efforts help to build awareness.
