GCCA Book Launch: All Roads Lead to Art & Vice Versa: 10 Years of the Brandon Fellowship

October 23 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Free

Greenville, SC – Greenville Center for Creative Arts will celebrate the launch of the book All Roads Lead to Art and Vice Versa: Ten Years of the Brandon Fellowship with a reception on Thursday, October 23, from 7-9pm at Abney House, 201 Abney Street, Greenville, SC 29611, located next door to GCCA. This commemorative 10th-anniversary book features artwork and reflections from Brandon Fellows of the program’s first decade, highlighting the Fellowship’s impact during their residencies at GCCA and on their creative journeys since.

Established in 2015 alongside the grand opening of Greenville Center for Creative Arts, the Brandon Fellowship was created to provide transformative opportunities for emerging artists. Named after the historic Brandon Mill and its surrounding textile village—now home to GCCA—the Fellowship reflects the Center’s commitment to fostering artistic growth and professional development.

The Brandon Fellowship is a twelve-month program that supports emerging artists who are eager to advance their careers and become community leaders. Initially offered to three artists aged twenty-one to thirty, GCCA now invites artists aged eighteen to twenty-five to apply, and as of the 10th anniversary of the Brandon Fellowship, four candidates will now be selected yearly. Ideal candidates demonstrate exceptional talent, self-motivation, and a strong commitment to their artistic journey.

Brandon Fellows receive a supportive arts environment, including mentorship, professional development, and art education, along with access to exhibitions, high-caliber art classes, workshops, and on-site studio spaces to help refine their skills and establish themselves as working artists.

The book launch event, hosted by Danielle Fontaine and Bill McLendon, founders of the Brandon Fellowship, will also be a great occasion to meet a large group of the Brandon Fellows, these young artists who have already left their mark on the Greenville art scene in countless ways.
