The Greenville Jewish Film Festival’s SummerFest 2025
The Greenville Jewish Film Festival’s SummerFest 2025 returns with three events, beginning August 20th at 7pm at Sigal Music Museum.
SummerFest 2025 invites you to celebrate in three locations, with three events, and three unique experiences:
The first event is a celebration of Yiddish culture and includes a live performance by musical duo Zoe & Cloyd, a reception with mocktails and cultural desserts created by Project Host, trailers for the films “Welcome to Yiddishland” and “The Muses of Bashevis Singer,” and a screening of the short film “Days Between Rest: a portrait of Rachel Namudosi.” The film follows a third-generation Jewish Ugandan singer and explores family, music, faith and the Abayudaya community.
SummerFest 2025 participants can continue their movie watching journey Aug. 24 at 4 p.m. at Camelot Cinemas with a screening of “Welcome to Yiddishland.” Directed by Ros Horin, the documentary offers an exploration of a global community of artists breathing life into Yiddish.
The festival concludes with “The Muses of Bashevis Singer,” which will be available to stream from Aug. 24 through Sept. 1. This documentary delves into the life of Nobel-winner Isaac Bashevis Singer and focuses on the contributions of the female translators who shaped and inspired his work through personal interviews and rare archival footage.
