It’s a right-handed world, except at 941 South Main Street…

The Greenville Drive and Table 301 have teamed up to bring a new tavern to town – arriving just in time for that July baseball buzz and relaxing evenings under downtown Greenville’s sunset skies. Whether you’re a sports fan, foodie, or someone just down for good company, Lefty’s wants to be your laid-back, feel-at-home kind of spot!
These guys have hit it out of the park. From left-handed beer mugs and coasters with images of famous left-handers to left handed seats at the bar, lefties will feel right at home. In the words of their website “Lefty is what happens if Sam Malone from Cheers and Bogie from Casablanca merged. Sharp, insightful sports knowledge, a subtle sense of humor, enough quiet confidence and presence to practically suck the carbonation out of a club soda, a charisma that comes from nobody knows where, and a deep, unwavering pride that translates into a tavern that runs right, that treats folks well and that turns newbies into regulars in less time than in takes to hand them a menu.
Everything’s right at Lefty’s!“

Greenville has come to expect great things from Table 301, and Lefty’s is no exception. Monday, Chef Rodney Freidank introduced his menu to a mob of local media moguls. I’m at a loss for an adjective that would do his food justice. Everyone at my table had a different favorite. Spoiler alert: it may be called the Ground Rule Double Smash Burger, but it was a walk-off grand slam! We’ll be back for another one of these soon!

Chef Rodney has been with Table 301 since the beginning. Lefty’s is the first sports bar for this group. Their goal is to serve good quality comfort food with an emphasis on service. “Lots of love and make it exceptional,” says Chef Rodney, “super great rendition of what you know you already like.” Sports fans don’t typically choose “frou frou” food. Lefty’s will have at least two hot dog choices. One signature dog and one that will change monthly to feature a different major league ballpark hot dog. Be sure to pick up a punch card with your first hot dog and get a prize when you try them all!
All beer recipes feature neighbor, New Realm Brewery’s, Rallyville Lager. Lefty’s is taking supporting local to an all time high! Sauces and dressings, right down to the chow chow, are made in house. Top tastes you won’t find elsewhere.
The Green Monster, light “summery” drink from the bar, greeted the group at the door. Chef Rodney was the perfect host (as always), explaining each dish (and there were LOTS). The salads were HUGE, and could have served a whole table! Televisions encircle the seating area and bar, so regardless of the season, no one has to miss their favorite game. The outdoor seating area, ideal for large groups, has a big screen, too. Open seven days a week from 11am until TBD.
Other notable favorites: Shrimp & Corn Fritters and the Maryland Crab Pretzel! We mean it… do not sleep on these two dishes!
Located left of Fluor Field’s left field, Lefty’s is the perfect place to drop in before/after, or even during, a Greenville Drive game.
Lefty’s officially opens Thursday, July 10th. Mark your calendars!
