Upstate residents don’t have to look far to find fun and fireworks on the Fourth of July. Many area celebrations honor veterans and mark the founding of our great nation. We’ve listed just a few for you to check out!
Freedom Blast
Greer City Park
Saturday, June 29th
6-10pm
“Party Like A Patriot.” Bring a lawn chair and spend the evening in the center of downtown Greer. Be there by 6:15 pm to see Team Fastrax parachute into the crowd, followed by a military tribute at 6:30 pm. Texas Roadhouse Rib Eating Contest begins at 7:15. Children can visit the Kids Zone, complete with amusement rides, while parents take part in the blood drive. Enjoy the vendors and finish the night with fireworks at 10:00 pm.
Clemson MBA Fireworks on the Fourth
Unity Park
Thursday, July 4th
6-10pm
Visit the sixty acre Unity Park for live music at the Prisma Green. Soul Intent Band, 6:00 pm; Honor Guard, 7:30 pm; and 246 Army Band, 7:45 pm. Fireworks follow the fun at 9:30 pm. The Kroc Center is offering parking spaces for $20 with concessions, glow sticks, and ear plugs.
Saluda Lake Landing

Savor your favorite picnic food and enjoy live music by the lake. There’s a Patriotic Boat Contest along with a Dress-Your-Kayak Competition. Don’t miss the water balloon festivities! What a fun way to beat the heat!
CCNB Amphitheatre Heritage Park
Sunday, June 30th, 6pm
Come listen to the sounds of Smash Mouth. It’s a free concert, no need for tickets! Parking lots open at 4:00 pm; doors open at 5:30 pm for the 6:00 pm show. Fifteen minutes of fireworks will follow the music.
Climb At Blue Ridge
Thursday, July 4th
Sorry to say, we haven’t experienced this spot yet. It’s billed “the best indoor climbing in the upstate.” Climb for FREE on the Fourth from 4:00 pm- 9:00 pm. Experience a giant slip ‘n slide and stick around for fireworks at 9:00 pm. Hot Dog plates will be sold.
Hendersonville July 4th Parade
Main Street Hendersonville

Make your way to Main Street, from Caswell Street to 6th Avenue for the patriotic parade. Be back downtown in the evening to enjoy the entertainment. Kids games and activities, complete with inflatables, food trucks, and two stages of live music. Tune into radio station WTZQ, 16OO AM, for music the fireworks will dance to, beginning between 9:15pm9:30pm.
TR Farmer’s Market

Regularly boasting over seventy vendors and farmers, this Saturday Market will host the Kids Bike Parade to commemorate America’s birthday. $50 cash prizes will be awarded to the “Most Creative” and “Most Patriotic” bikes. Contestants begin lining up at 9:30 am and the parade begins at 10:00 am. Everyone will be entertained by the red, white, and blue bikes!
These ceremonies sound exciting, but certainly don’t begin to cover all the July 4th action in Greenville and surrounding areas.
