Who’s shocked (besides me) that we’re sitting in the month of November? September was yesterday. I don’t remember October. Ready or not, Thanksgiving will be here in the blink of an eye. We’ve rounded up a short, but sweet list of food and activities taking place this month.
Where To Eat
Henry’s Smokehouse is currently taking orders. They’re offering smoked fried turkeys, smoked turkeys, spiral ham and lots of sides. Check their website for hours.
Several local BBQ restaurants are offering catering. Check out Home Team BBQ, Moe’s Original Bar-B-Que, Mike and Jeff’s and Lewis Barbecue Greenville for their Thanksgiving menu and holiday hours.
Cracker Barrel is serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal. You can also order a to-go meal that will serve up to ten people. Most stores will be open on Thanksgiving day (check their website for participating locations). Definitely add your name to the online wait list before you arrive!
Larkin’s has a Take and Bake Meal Kit that includes 7 lbs of turkey breast, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, Larkin’s Four Cheese Mac, whipped Yukon Potatoes, sweet potato casserole (pecan praline topping), cornbread stuffing, green beans, rolls, and apple cake. You can also add on to your order: deviled eggs, ham, upgrade to lobster mac & cheese, shrimp & crab dip, shrimp cocktail and a wine trio. The kit feeds six to eight people.
Magnetic South Brewery in Greenville located at Judson Mill District is hosting a Thanksgiving Day Potluck on Thursday, November 28th from 4-9pm. They make the turkey and you bring the sides! FREE entry with other purchases TBD. For more details click here.
Swamp Rabbit Cafe will be selling locally sourced turkey and ham, plus sides. They have you (smothered and) covered, all the way down to the gravy! Click here for their full thanksgiving menu. Pre-orders end November 22nd.
White Wine and Butter offers Cajun fried turkey and prime rib along with their signature sides. They also have a charcuterie box gift set that will feed ten people for $125.
Need a hot meal? Arden’s Burger and Grill in Central has a FREE meal on Thursday, November 28th, starting at 11am. They will deliver to shut-ins.
Harvest for Hope Food Bank will be serving a free meal.
Holiday Happenings
South Carolina Children’s Theatre begins their production of The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical on November 22nd and will continue through 12/15. Tickets are $25, on sale now! Check out their website for season tickets (best deal) and seasonal discounts.
Get in the Christmas spirit with Heritage Park’s Night of Lights. The attraction opens on November 23rd and will run through January 3rd, 2025. Perfect for all ages. Tickets are available for purchase at the gate. Activities include: the walk through light show, Santa’s Village, carnival rides, petting zoo, bouncy house, skating rink, food vendors and more! Hours are Sunday-Thursday 5 pm-9 pm and Friday-Saturday 5 pm-10 pm. It’s sure to be a fun night for the whole family!
Grateful GVL returns to Downtown Greenville along Main Street for the first time since 2019. FREE and open to the public. This special community event will be set-up over the Main Street bridge, between Broad and Falls Park Streets. It’s a chance to come together to share a conversation and a meal. All of the food will be donated and safely served by local restaurant sponsors, and surplus funding will benefit Mill Village Ministries’ FoodShare Greenville program, which feeds families all year long.
The first-ever Gratefull GVL took place in 2019 with an overwhelmingly positive response with over 120 businesses, organizations and restaurants contributed to the restaurant-sponsored buffet, and over 3,000 guests from all walks of life attended. This year, the Thanksgiving meal will take place on Monday, November 25th, 2024 from 11:30am-1:30pm and 5,000+ attendees. For more details click here.

South Carolina State Parks will offer FREE park admission on Friday, November 29th. “Come Out & Play!” I don’t know about you, but I’ll have plenty of Thanksgiving calories to hike off!
