Just another reason to smile about Greenville. Meet Dr. Andy Bullard, his wife Mary and daughter Kate from Comprehensive and Domestic Dental Studio of Greenville. Now let’s get your official intro with Dr. Bullard!
360: How did you first get into dentistry?
Andy: I was raised with the idea of being in service to others. Mom is a teacher, Dad is a minister. Growing up in Easley, I never dreaded going to the dentist, and I enjoyed getting to know my dentists. Watching them work made me realize that dentistry could be an interesting and challenging career. My first job after graduating from MUSC was practicing at the Fort Stewart Army Base near Savannah. The rest of my career has been back home in the Upstate, working in Greer since 2001, and now Greenville.
360: What brought you to North Main development?
Andy: I love how Greenville and our surrounding communities have grown over the past 30 years, particularly the energy in Downtown Greenville. The North Main area is both a traditional and actively growing neighborhood. As I looked for a location to open a new dental office, Main and Stone seemed like a great fit. Our office has big windows that look onto Stone Avenue. It’s a pleasure to see so many people driving and walking by everyday. I feel lucky to be here. It’s no wonder that North Main was voted Best Neighborhood in the Upstate. We’ve got great patients and great neighbors all around us.
360: What do you love most about your job?
Andy: I love being able to make a positive impact on my patients’ health. Watching them and their families grow through the years has been more of a pleasure than I ever expected. It’s truly rewarding to be able to put our patients at ease, since dental care can cause anxiety for a lot of people. My team and I do everything we can to create a comfortable experience for everyone.
360: What makes your practice different from the rest?
Andy: I chose the word “comprehensive” in the name of my practice to place focus on the detail of care we provide. We are not a high volume dental office. This means we’re not in a rush to get you in and out the door. We listen. We take the time to get to know each patient as an individual, so we know what matters to them. This helps us create a care plan that is unique to each of our patients.
360: When you’re not taking care of your patients, what do you love to do in Greenville?
Andy: My family and I enjoy spending time Downtown and visiting with family and friends as much as possible. Our daughter has grown up enjoying The Children’s Museum, Greenville Zoo, performances at Peace Center and eating as much ice cream and gelato as possible! Fall for Greenville and Hands on Greenville are traditions for us. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and playing golf with my Dad and friends.
360: What’s next for the Dental Studio? Anything exciting you can share with us?
Andy: We’re thankful for our first year in Greenville. We’ll continue to provide free whitening kits for all of our new patients. We are also expanding our hours to offer evening appointments on Wednesdays. But on this Saturday, September 22nd, we will be hosting a blood drive between 9:30-1pm. You can sign-up by calling our office at (864) 520-2942. That same day we’ll have an open house with food, gifts and raffles. Stay connected with us on Facebook for your chance to win great prizes throughout the year!
360: Thank you, Andy. It was nice to officially meet you. We’ll see you for our 6-month cleaning!
