From parks, breweries, and restaurants to groomers, trainers, and pet sitters, the app connects dog lovers with trusted local businesses while building a community centered around pups and their people. Users can also access exclusive “Pup Perks,” stay updated on dog-friendly events, and explore curated guides designed to make life with dogs easier, more fun, and more connected. Without further ado, let’s meet Karly Cunningham of Good Dogs of Greenville!

360: How did the idea for the Good Dogs of Greenville app come to life?
Karly: Good Dogs of Greenville started as a passion project after moving to Greenville with my dogs and realizing how challenging it was to find dog-friendly places and events all in one spot. I wanted to make it easier for people like me — who love including their dogs in everything they do — to discover where they’re welcome. What began as a small Facebook group connecting local pup parents quickly grew into a full community of over 8,000 locals, and eventually evolved into a mobile app built to connect dog owners with dog-friendly businesses, events, and experiences across the Upstate.
360: What makes the new Good Dogs app essential to the Upstate?
Karly: It’s the first platform of its kind in Greenville designed for dog people, by dog people. The app pulls together everything you need to live your best dog-friendly life — places to go, things to do, and perks from local businesses that love dogs as much as you do. It’s a resource for locals and visitors alike, helping them explore Greenville through a dog-friendly lens while supporting small, local businesses that make our community special.
360: What’s your favorite feature of the Good Dogs app?
Karly: Definitely the Pup Perks! It’s such a fun way to discover new local spots while getting exclusive deals and offers just for being part of the Good Dogs community. I also love how easy it is to find dog-friendly events — from holiday events to adoption drives — all in one place. It’s not just an app, it’s a local experience hub for dog parents.
360: Where are some of your favorite places to take your dogs around Greenville?
Kalry: We love spending time at Unity Park and walking the Swamp Rabbit Trail, especially when it ends with a stop at a dog-friendly patio like The Commons or Southernside Brewing Co. On weekends, we’ll head to The Dapper Dog for playtime, or check out breweries and restaurants like Wild Yarrow Brewing or UP on the Roof. Greenville has so many great dog-friendly places — and we’re still discovering new ones every week!
360: What’s next for Good Dogs of Greenville?
Karly: We’re focused on growing across the Upstate — adding more businesses and content to the app, and creating more ways to connect dog owners with their communities. We’re also working on launching new features that will make it even easier for users to plan outings with their pups, discover hidden gems, and support local dog-friendly businesses.
What’s next continued…
Karly: Recently, we were honored to be named the Winner of the 2025 GVL Starts Venture Showcase, a Greenville-based accelerator powered by Furman University’s Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. That recognition reaffirmed our vision and gave us even more momentum to keep building a scalable, community-driven platform that helps people live more dog-inclusive lives — starting right here in Greenville.
360: That’s great! Congrats on what you have accomplished so far with Good Dogs so far!
