A neighborhood wine shop selling boutique wines in a fun and relaxed setting with affordable and diverse options. Now without further ado, let’s meet the owners of Noble Vice Wine Co.!

360: How did the idea for Noble Vice Wine Co. come to life?
Noble Vice: Suzy and Greg spent years as sommeliers in New York City, seeing wine shops and bars with endless personality and variety. These passion projects helped to inspire a dream that slowly developed in the backs of their minds over the years. After moving to Greenville, they met Evan, who was the founder of local wine shop, The Tasting Room of Travelers Rest. We quickly recognized in each other a common love of wine and a desire to present it in an approachable way. Off-hand conversations became kind of serious conversations became really serious conversations became conversations with bankers and here we are today!
360: What makes Noble Vice different from the rest?
Noble Vice: We like to think that what sets us apart is our combination of professional wine experience with a very intentional sense of welcome. From the beginning, wine has been about community connection, and we want to meet people exactly where they are on their personal wine journeys. We want you to feel comfortable drinking what you like, asking about something new to you, and most importantly, being who you are. Our space was designed to be warm and homey, and everyone is welcome. The only thing there isn’t room for here is pretentiousness.
360: What do you love most about your jobs?
Noble Vice: It’s really fun to see first hand a cross section of all the folks out there who are passionate about wine. Sure, it’s great to resonate with like minds, but it can be especially enriching to dialogue with people from very different walks of life. Wine is such a wonderful bridge that spans cultures and classes, and we get to see that every day. It’s pretty nice to try dozens of new wines every week too!
360: In the hot summer months, what are a few of your favorite go-to drinks?
Noble Vice: Crisp whites, bubbles and roses, German pilsners, amaro spritzes and gin drinks. They’re classics for good reason.
360: Tell us more about the Noble Vice Wine Club.
Noble Vice: We call it NV, and we’re really proud of how it has gone so far. On a regular basis, we taste wines that really excite us, but we don’t always have a spot for them on the shelves. These are fascinating and delicious bottles, and NV is a great way to get them directly into the hands of our regulars. There are big plans for future expansion (Bubbles Only, Cellar Selections, Whales and the like), but currently we offer a 2-bottle monthly membership as well as a 4-bottle version. All of the releases also include a bit of background and our impressions of the wines as well as some ideas on culinary pairings. It’s a really convenient and cost-effective way for enthusiasts to experience fun new wines that you don’t often see in most stores.
360: When you’re not working at Noble Vice, what do you love to do in Greenville?
Noble Vice: Collectively, we love checking out all the fun new dining spots that open up around Greenville. If time and weather permit, there are so many great hikes and outdoor activities here as well. As for tried and true haunts that we love, a few favorites would be our neighbors Dolce Italy and Koi Asian Bistro as well as Trappe Door, Wine House, Greenville Beer Exchange, The Community Tap and FH Cigars.
360: Thank you! We can’t wait for what’s to come for Noble Vice Wine Co. Cheers!
