Geo’s Golf at TCMU
Tee Times aren’t just found in pro shops anymore. If you have plans to visit The Children’s Museum, look fore-ward (see what I did there?) to Geo’s Golf: Swinging Through Greenville! The custom built nine hole course replaced the Great Outdoors exhibit on the third floor. Wanna-be golfers can get tee times (a.k.a. advanced timed entry tickets) to test their skills on the new mini-golf course.
True to TCMU tradition, Geo’s Golf is suitable for all ages.
We had the opportunity to visit Friday morning before it opened on Saturday, May 1st. Preston asked me to let you know, “it was really fun and I definitely want to go back.” High praise from this athlete.
The “landscape” is unique. Designers showcased upstate locations and landmarks while keeping the focus on learning. Most players never give much thought to how force, friction and speed affect their putts (I can attest to this – there’s a golfer living in my household), but the homeschool mom/teacher in me took note and was more than pleased.
A full size golf cart gives little putters the opportunity to imagine all aspects of the game. It may be big, but it’s immobile and provides the perfect Instagram photo op. *No driver’s license required*
Only guests with tee times (tickets) are guaranteed entry. Players are asked to play in order of numbered holes and practice social distancing. Adults in the gallery are asked to wear masks.
You can get your tickets here and entry is available every half hour. Please note, the length of your visit will not be timed.
Greenville TCMU hours are Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 11am- 5pm and closed Mondays.
