The art scene in Greenville has grown in recent years. In a 15 mile radius alone, 143 artists have studios showcasing their artwork. From sculptures to paintings to pottery, many artists encompassing several different genres of art have chosen Greenville to plant their studios.
The Metropolitan Art Council (MAC) connects artists to the community through events, programs, and exhibits. Their annual Open Studios is happening November 9th-11th! At this event, you will discover the gifts and talents of amazing local artists through their artwork. During this free self-guided tour, you get the chance to receive an exclusive view of 143 artists across 89 locations in the Upstate. You will get the opportunity to meet local artists while you view their art in their own galleries. 24 new artists will be featured in this year’s tour!
Here are the tour’s dates & times:
Friday, November 9th 6:30-9:00pm (select studios only)
Saturday, November 10th 10am-6pm
Sunday, November 11th 12-6pm
Bonus: MAConnect Open Studios Bus Tour on Sunday, November 11th at 10:30am-4pm: Begin the day with brunch at MAC complete with Bloody Mary’s and mimosas followed by visits to 4-5 different studios! Spots are limited, so RSVP by emailing kacee@greenvillearts.com.

Begin your tour at MAC and view the Square Affair, an exhibit featuring artwork by artists in the tour. You can witness the hanging of the exhibit on October 29th, with the majority of the work being hung from 2:30-3:30pm. Not only can you see the exhibit during Open Studio weekend, you can also view the Square Affair exhibit November 5th-December 14th.
Catalogues containing studio locations, artist information, and more are available to assist you on your self-guided tour. Pick up a copy at the Metropolitan Art Council office by October 22nd or various retail locations located in the Upstate.
