Let’s be honest… who doesn’t love a chance to celebrate? We’ve gathered up a list of all the random National Holidays you know (or maybe didn’t know) for this Fall and Winter, so you have a reason to celebrate every day!
Oct. 5: Storytelling Day
Greenville is full of bookstores and if you haven’t visited one already, you are missing out! Try going to M. Judson Booksellers or Joe’s Place for a good read.
Oct. 12: Old Farmers Day
We all love Greenville so why not support the farmers who grow food here? Support local farmers by stopping Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery or try a farm-to-table restaurant like The Anchorage or going to an actual farm like Reedy River Farms.
Oct. 22: Smart is Cool Day
Smart IS cool(every day) so go out and learn in Greenville on October 22nd. Visit the Greenville library or one Greenville’s many museums! The Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum is a great place to start.
Oct. 27: Make a Difference Day
Go volunteer! Greenville has an abundance of organizations that would love your help. No matter what enjoy to do, there somewhere YOU can help.
Nov. 3: Sandwich Day
Everyone has a favorite sandwich in Greenville, but if you haven’t stopped by Sully’s Steamers yet, now is the time to do it! Their bagels are steamed to perfection, as the name implies, and they have an infinite amount of options.
Nov. 12: Happy Hour Day
This year November 12th falls on a Monday, so if Happy Hour Day isn’t the perfect pick me up, then I don’t know what is.
Nov. 23: Buy Nothing Day
Y’all! There is so much free stuff to do in Greenville! November 23rd is a great excuse to explore what there is to do… that’s free. Need some ideas? Check out our cheap thrills guide here for a place to start.
Dec. 4: Cookie Day
Sure, you could just pick up a package of Oreos at the grocery, but what’s the fun(or taste) in that? For an amazing chocolate chip, head over to The Chocolate Moose Bakery & Cafe for one of the ooiest, gooiest cookie EVER. They might be known for their cupcakes, but the cookies deserve the same reputation.
Dec. 11: Mountain Day
I know it’s cold in December, but on national mountain day you should brace the cold and go take a hike in one of Greenville’s beautiful trails. Paris Mountain is great for a light hike or if you’re looking for challenge head out to Table Rock.
Have fun celebrating every day, Greenville! PS, these by no means are all the National Holidays out there… you can check out the complete list by clicking here. Enjoy!
