In the mood for a get-away without the trouble of travel?

The illusion of seclusion. I didn’t coin that phrase, but it perfectly describes the Hartness Community. Hotel Hartness awaits to offer you a sensational staycation!
We began with a golf cart tour of the 490 acres. Two hundred homes varying in size from 1,000 square feet to over 8,000 all blend perfectly in this property between Highway 14 and Garlington Road. Rental properties are also available. Twelve ponds, miles of hiking trails, and a campground can be found adjacent to a nature preserve. Hence the illusion of seclusion.
Hartness takes “farm to table” to new levels, growing most of the foods they use and even providing space for residents to have their own gardens. A weekly farmers market offers fresh fruits and vegetables. There’s one for home owners to sell their produce too!

David Robertson, Director of Sales (and our tour guide), says that Hartness Community “is a 10:10 – ten minutes from major grocery stores, the Greenville/Spatanburg International Airport, and anything else you might need.” Hartness owns a landscaping company that keeps the entire grounds looking pristine. “We don’t have restricted covenants, we have protective covenants.” Robertson explains their agents, with over a hundred years of combined sales experience, assume more of a consulting role. Hartness Community sells itself!
New Poolside Menu
What do you get when you add sparkling wine to sparkling water? Perfection!

The timing of our staycation coincided with the roll-out of the new Poolside Menu! The menu is full of the most refreshing drinks, perfect for a hot summer day by the pool. The Peach Splash (my personal favorite) was light and delicious. Guacamole and pico dip are made fresh daily. The guacamole was the best I’ve had! Entrees are served in perfect little boxes with dividers and lids, keeping the heat/cold in (and the insects out)! Very unique.
Pro Tip: order the Lobster Rolls, Smash Burger and Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap.
The deck is adorned with everything you need for a relaxing afternoon. Towels and cold water are provided for your convenience. There’s even a chairlift for guests with disabilities. The special education teacher in me was impressed. The whole afternoon felt like a vacation – the Poolside Menu just made the vibe extra delicious. It also helps that the price is on point!
Patterson Kitchen + Bar

Dinner was at Patterson’s Kitchen + Bar. Nestled behind the hotel pond, every course was beautifully plated and paired with top-tier service. Highly recommend making a reservation.

We ended our time with a facial at Spa H. From the moment I stepped into the serene space, to the final refreshing mist, the treatment was everything I didn’t know I needed. The products felt luxurious, the esthetician was incredible knowledgeable, and my skin was glowing for days afterward. Easily one of the best self-care decisions I’ve made in a while!
Wrapping up my staycation at the Hotel Hartness, I was honestly surprised at how refreshed I felt without ever leaving Greenville. From the cozy rooms, to the peaceful surroundings, everything about the place made it easy to slow down and unwind. Hartness was a true escape without the stress of travel. We will definitely be back!
