19th Annual Greenville Open Studios…
If you’re a fan of Greenville, you are certainly familiar with the Metropolitan Arts Council. And certainly you’re a fan.
Founded in 1973, Metropolitan Arts Council provides support to all artists and arts organizations in the Upstate. MAC’s vision is to become a “trusted and visionary champion of the arts.” A variety of events designed to raise awareness of the arts community are sponsored by MAC every year.
2020 marks the 19th year of Greenville Open Studios. Even in the midst of a pandemic, craftsmen have found a way to highlight the tremendous creative energy that exists in the Greenville area. This year’s Open Studios features 133 artists in Greenville, Easley, Greer, Travelers Rest and Simpsonville.
The last six months have forced even the most timid among every generation to dive head first into the waters of the world-wide web! Everything in 2020 has gone virtual. We’ve turned to computers for our jobs, school, entertainment and even doctor visits.
2020 Greenville Open Studios is no exception.
This year’s annual event will begin Saturday, November 7th and run through Monday, November 30th. Some studios will be open, but will require appointments. Hours will vary, with some artisans participating virtually only. Art enthusiasts need to check out the Greenville Open Studios YouTube channel and the app. Click here to download the app. Lastly, Greenville Open Studios will also be featured in the November 6th edition of the Greenville Journal.
Stressful times call for imaginative stress-relievers. Thankfully we can still look forward to exploring art in the Upstate, even though it may look a little different!
