Planning a trip to the Upstate? If your journey takes you within a thirty mile radius of Travelers Rest, book a stay at The Station by Compo Hotels! These cottages sit along the Swamp Rabbit Trail and offer all the comforts of home plus much, much more!
Recently, we spent a weekend in this tiny treasure. It was amazing! From electrical sockets perfectly placed (if you’ve ever had to search for extension cords to charge your devices, this is a big deal) to a fully equipped kitchen and two televisions, not a detail was overlooked. Each cottage has a private patio, complete with comfy chairs and a table. It’s so pleasant to sit and enjoy your (Leopard Forest) coffee while watching the outdoorsy folk walk/bike/run along the trail. If you get inspired, one short leap over the lovely landscape and you can join them. I wasn’t inspired, but I did enjoy watching everyone else’s exercise. Don’t miss the chain behind your rocker (yes, there’s one of those on every patio) to lock up your bike.
The Station takes fully furnished to a whole new level.
Know Before You Go
We utilized the pullout couch. My guests said it was comfortable – a welcomed change. If you travel, you know that’s not always the case. There is also a portable stove available. Compo Hotels provides travel-size shampoo, body wash and lotion. There was a hair dryer, iron and washer/dryer. The TV in the living room and bedroom carries every streaming service. Just don’t forget to sign out of your accounts!
Main Street, Travelers Rest is a short walk from the parking lot. Had it been warmer, we could have easily walked to dinner. We ate Farmhouse Tacos – YUM!
My favorite outdoor spot was the fire pit. My friends and I enjoyed S’mores by the fire. There are grills if you feel like staying in for dinner. The Station is in a perfect location for enjoying the outside. A very short walk down the road is Trailblazer Park. This County Recreation play place sits on the grounds of my Alma Mater. My Junior year, I parked my car where the community garden grows. Travelers Rest High School moved up the road several years after I graduated. The whole trip was so nostalgic for me.
This is the time of year when high school seniors’ minds turn to “where will I go to college?” The Station is the college one-stop-shop. Its a short drive to North Greenville University, Bob Jones University, Clemson University and one of the most beautiful campuses in the United States – Furman University. Furman is a fabulous place to visit with or without students. Feeding the ducks or enjoying a picnic around the lake are popular spring activities for Greenvillians. Interested in a round of golf? Furman University Golf Club is exactly 1.8 miles away, aka, a four minute drive.
The area around The Station by Compo Hotels has something for the whole family to enjoy.
