A little “birdie” told me that TopGolf is coming to Greenville and we are SO excited!
I was introduced to TopGolf a few months ago. Our tribe traveled to Alpharetta, GA for the Big Apple Circus (you should totally see that, by the way) and spent one evening at TopGolf.
I had no idea what to expect. When we got there, I realized it was basically an outdoor driving range. It was twenty below zero this particular weekend, so I may or may not have rolled my eyes as we made our way to the door.
To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. While the range is technically outdoors, we didn’t have to worry about the cold. The overhead heaters were cranked up and kept us toasty warm. Since Mother Nature seems to have a slight case of dementia, TopGolf is the perfect outing. Temperatures are always ideal.
Even if golf is not your game, TopGolf is 100% entertaining. Each lane has computerized scoring and various clubs in case you don’t have your own. Complete with a staff member waiting to serve your party, it’s the on point set up for a family. There’s outdoor dining, music and something to keep the kids busy while you eat. In other words, I got to enjoy an entire meal without a little person climbing on my lap or asking to go to the bathroom. It was a win for everyone.
JP and Preston enjoyed competing to see who could hit their ball the farthest. When the sun went down, the course lit up in different colors, JP’s favorite part. The colors aren’t simply for aesthetics, but strategically placed with different point values. Older golfers enjoy the challenging set up of the various games.
Let’s talk about the menu. Our appetizer was a plate of quesadillas and it was delicious! For dinner, we ordered hamburger sliders (with fries) for the kids while we indulged in a pepperoni flatbread pizza. Of course, the boys didn’t sit long enough to really enjoy the meal, but eventually they worked up enough of an appetite to clean their plates. I won’t stop talking about the menu without mentioning the desserts. Chipwiches are my love language. When our waiter delivered a plate full, I immediately fell in love. That wasn’t the “sweetest” part of the whole experience. When was the last time you injected a syringe full of chocolate into a donut hole? Let that sink in.
If your “tee time” doesn’t coincide with meal time, the full menu offers drinks and snacks for any time of day or night.
Just when I thought Greenville couldn’t get any better, TopGolf comes to town! Fore!
