Hey again, Greenville!
I’m back with my June update from my Sportsclub360 Experience! This past month has flown right by, but that has not stopped my workout schedule. I have found that during the summer my “everyday” schedule gets thrown off by travel, vacation, and on-going events. To keep some normalcy in my life, I make sure to get at least 5 good workouts every week. Sportsclub has been great to keep me accountable to this goal and it starts with them having the great equipment and space to cater to whatever workout I’m feeling. Today I’m going to give you an update on my workouts so far and a few reviews of some GroupX classes I have tried.
At the Sportsclub they have a great schedule of GroupX classes, which are led by great instructors and vary in length and type of class. I find group classes to be very beneficial due to having a set amount of time I’m committing to the workout and also do it with a community feel. Everyone in the classes are so nice and cheer each other on. Yesterday I did a class called GRIT. It’s basically a 30-minute plyometric class set to music. It’s a class off of the Les Mills program, which is a workout company that the instructors are trained by and they launch new workouts every month or so to mix it up. This was a great way to get in some cardio without being out in the hot sun. I’m really excited to try some of the other classes in the Les Mills program, which can include everything from boxing to yoga. Check out the complete list here.
Other than workout classes, in the gym I’m doing a variety of exercises in the machine weight area and the Warrior Training area. I try to focus on 2-3 major muscle groups per session and switch them up to make sure I’m having an effective lift. I find this is especially useful when travelling and you don’t know exactly what kind of gym you will have.
To supplement my lifting and workouts I have been doing a lot of biking. I have enjoyed riding up to Travelers Rest and riding around the country roads or up Paris Mountain. Another one of my favorite bike rides to do in the Greenville area is to go up to DuPont National Forest with my boyfriend to do some single track mountain biking. We have a blast riding and hiking, and it’s just about 45 minutes outside of the city. Having Sportsclub and all the activities Greenville has to offer outside has helped me stay fit with a working lifestyle.
Stay tuned for another update of my experience in about a month as I start Sportsclub’s iStart program.
Until then! Safe active, y’all.
Kathryn
